Reference signal and preemptive resource collision handling

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. User equipment (UE) may identify a reference signal preemption scheme associated with one or more reference signal resources that are preempted for priority transmission over a period of time. The UE may determine that the resources of the one or more reference signals have been preempted over a period of time and according to the reference signal preemption scheme. The UE may implement a reference signal preemption response scheme selected based on resources of one or more preempted reference signals.
