Identification of porcine xenoantigens

Provided herein are genetically modified pigs, porcine organs, tissues and cells with a reduced tendency to cause rejection in human subjects after xenotransplantation. In particular, provided herein are genetically modified pigs lacking a nonGal xenoantigen, and porcine cells, tissues and organs obtained from such genetically modified pigs suitable for transplantation into humans. Also provided herein is a method of ameliorating the symptoms associated with rejection in a human subject.
