TA update in RRC_INACTIVE state

According to an aspect, the wireless device determines that, while in the RRC inactive state, a radio access network notification area update (RNAU) is required. In addition to the need for RNAU, the wireless device further evaluates whether there is any other cause of resuming the RRC connection state. In response to the determination, the wireless device sends an RRC resume request message to the network. The RRC resumption request message includes a cause indicator indicating RNAU as a cause for resuming the RRC connection state, when the evaluation does not identify another cause for resuming the RRC connection state.
