The present invention relates to a red phosphorescent substance which is a benzocarbazole derivative which can be substituted by heteroaromatic, heteroalicyclic, aliphatic and the like and an organic electroluminescent device using the same. The red phosphor according to the present invention has a good color purity and greatly improved the luminous efficiency due to the improvement of the internal quantum efficiency. In addition, since it can be dissolved in various organic solvents, for example, when forming a host in the light emitting layer of the organic light emitting device, it can be formed using a solution process.
