The present invention relates to an optimal medium composition for increasing the growth of microalgae with a nitrate reductase gene knocked out, and uses thereof. The medium of the present invention, compared to a conventional medium, can significantly increase the production of transformed microalgae, and thus is useful for the production of recombinant proteins using transformed microalgae in which a foreign gene is introduced and the nitrate reductase gene is knocked out.
