The present invention relates to a head mounted display (HMD) performance evaluation system and an HMD performance evaluation method using the same. More specifically, according to the present invention, the HMD performance evaluation system comprises: an HMD optical unit on which the HMD to be evaluated can be mounted on an upper side; a screen unit located in front of the HMD optical unit and including a plurality of standard patterns used to measure the size of an image transmitted from the HMD optical unit; a camera unit located on the rear side of the HMD optical unit and having a camera mounted on an upper side to recognize the standard patterns included in the screen unit or the image transmitted from the HMD optical unit; a light source unit located on an upper side of the HMD optical unit to project light to the screen unit; and a control unit to draw the results of the HMD performance evaluation based on the image information recognized by the camera unit. The present invention aims to provide the HMD performance evaluation system and the HMD performance evaluation method using the same which are able to successively measure the field of view, eye relief, distortion, and eye box for evaluating the performance of the HMD by using the same system, thereby performing a qualitative performance evaluation of an HMD image.
