Methods and systems are disclosed for precisely arranging the parts of an artificial hip during surgery, particularly with the aim of preventing acetabular implants from being misplaced in the hip. The system according to one embodiment has at least one pair of electronic sensors disposed in the patient''s natural bone structure and insert as a tilt and orientation sensor. In addition, the at least one electronic angle sensor, the electronic leg measuring unit, and the computer processor run application software to receive information from various electronic sensors to calculate the associated angular relationship, optionally the spacing relationship. The system electronically measures the pelvic tilt and position of living organisms while lying on the sideways during surgery. The system and method provide the surgeon with accurate and accurate measurements of the patient''s pelvic tilt, tilt angle and anterior flexion angle during surgery in which the hip is implanted in the patient.
