The present invention relates to a genetic marker and a method for identifying fish species of the family Cobitidae. More specifically, the present invention provides a species-specific PCR kit for identifying fish species of the family Cobitidae, comprising a first forward primer composed of a nucleic acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 3; a second forward primer composed of a nucleic acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 4; a third forward primer composed of a nucleic acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 5; and a universal reverse primer composed of a nucleic acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 2.
