(Problem) The present invention uses a denitration catalyst in a low temperature range in which the exhaust gas temperature of a marine diesel engine or the like is in the range of 200 to 400 ° C, and adds a reducing agent such as alcohol to the exhaust gas purification system by appropriate heat treatment. The practical use of recovering the denitration catalyst onsite (in the field) without the use of a special heating device or fuel, by using a reductant and an oxidation catalyst layer provided exclusively with a reducing agent and air and the heat treatment thereof, is possible. It provides an excellent on-site regeneration method of excellent denitration catalyst. (Solution means) In the exhaust gas purification system provided with the denitration catalyst layer 1, the reducing agent oxidation catalyst layer 2 is provided in parallel, and the reductant oxidation catalyst layer 2 is provided with a reducing agent and air during the catalyst regeneration of the denitration catalyst layer 1. In this oxidation catalyst layer (2), a high temperature oxidation reaction gas is generated by the reaction heat generated in the oxidation reaction with a reducing agent and air, and this high temperature oxidation reaction gas flows into the denitration catalyst layer (1) to denitrate. The denitration performance of the catalyst is restored by heating the catalyst.
