The present invention relates to a device for detecting respondent behaviors of an index organism, and more specifically, to a device for detecting respondent behaviors of an index organism, which uses a camera to detect respondent behaviors of an index organism inside an observation cage to toxic substances, wherein the camera is installed on a lateral surface of the observation cage to be able to move vertically or horizontally. According to the present invention, the camera for observing respondent behaviors of an index organism is installed adjacent to one lateral side of the observation cage to more precisely photograph in proximity, and is installed to move in order to photograph at a more accurate position corresponding to disposition of the index organism, thereby allowing highly reliable observation. In addition, a rear surface of the observation cage as the background for photography of the index organism can be changed in color to be different from the color of the index organism, thereby making a boundary between the index organism and the background clear to ensure rapid and accurate photo processing.
