Disclosed are a surge control method of a mild hybrid system and a mild hybrid system having a surge control function. According to an aspect of the present invention, the surge control method of the mild hybrid system comprises the steps of: predicting whether a surge will occur based on a current vehicles operation status; determining whether a battery is in a dischargeable status when a surge is expected to occur; if the surge is expected to occur and the battery is in the dischargeable status, checking the status of a clutch which controls the power connection between a transmission input shaft and the engine crankshaft; and disengaging the clutch if the clutch is engaged, and controlling the number of revolutions of the engine with a starter generator which is installed to exchange power with the engine crankshaft.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
