According to the present invention, disclosed are an IGCC complex plant boiler water pump protection system and an IGCC complex plant boiler water pump protection method. According to an embodiment, the IGCC complex plant boiler water pump protection method includes: a first step of confirming whether a condition of a water pump starting signal 10-second time delay circuit is satisfied when a water pump starting signal is generated; a second step of comparing the average of two rear end pressure signals of the water pump, differential pressure of a front end strainer of the water pump and rear end pressure of a low-pressure drum if a value, which is obtained by subtracting the differential pressure of a front end strainer of the water pump and the rear end pressure of a low-pressure drum from the average of the two rear end pressure signals, is no more than a set value; and a step of protecting the water pump by stopping the pump through a water pump trip signal when a water pump trip 5-second time delay circuit is maintained when resulting values from the first and second steps are all true.
