The present invention relates to a novel enterovirus type 71 strain and an inactivated vaccine composition for preventing hand and foot disease using the same. Since the candidate EV71 type inactivated vaccine candidate according to the present invention has been confirmed to have excellent vaccine effects, such as neutralizing antibody, defense ability, and passive immune response effect, the vaccine composition of the present invention can be used as an effective vaccine for preventing hand and foot disease.
