APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING COMPOSITE MAP BETA GYRE CIRCULATION OF TYPHOON

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for generating a composite map beta gyre circulation of a typhoon which can increase analysis efficiency and reliability by generating and analyzing a composite map of beta gyre circulation related to a movement of a typhoon from observation data of global winds. The method comprises: selectively extracting a wind field (wind vector) of a space scale corresponding to a beta gyre by applying a digital filter to a global analysis field; converting a latitude/longitude coordinate system into a new coordinate system with an arbitrary new point set as the North Pole; converting the extracted wind field (wind vector) into a wind vector of the new coordinate system; rotating the wind vector of the new coordinate system around the North Pole by a desired angle; considering a direction in which a typhoon moves to set a rotating angle; and rotating to match the direction in which the typhoon moves to a meridian direction where the longitude of the new coordinate system is 0. The above rotating method is applied to all typhoons to be analyzed, and the average of the typhoons, namely a composite map is obtained.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
