Disclosed are a multi-stage analog-to-digital converter (ADC) which compensates for effects of a finite gain of an operational amplifier and a method of operating the same. According to the present invention, the multi-stage ADC comprises: a front end circuit having a loop filter, a first quantizer to which the output of the loop filter is input, and a first digital filter for filtering the output of the first quantizer; a second quantizer to which quantization noise input to the first quantizer is input; and a second digital filter which filters the output of the second quantizer. A parameter of the loop filter or a gain of the first quantizer is varied in order to compensate for an effect that occurs when the gain of the operational amplifier used for an integrator of the loop filter is finite.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
