The separating plate type centrifugal separator comprises a memory 17A for storing an initial turbidity divided into a plurality of groups and a discharge trigger table created from a plurality of ΔNTUs corresponding to each of the plurality of initial turbidity groups, and an initial turbidity of the discharge trigger table. A system controller 17 is provided with a central arithmetic processing unit 17B that determines a discharge reference value for discharging the solid component S in the separation chamber 15 based on ΔNTU corresponding to this initial turbidity.
