Disclosed herein are compounds for targeting chemotherapeutic agents to mammalian mitochondria. Also disclosed are monoamine oxidase compounds and methods of using them for the selective treatment of mammalian cancers, particularly human glioma. Also disclosed are methods of using novel targeted chemotherapeutic agents in combination with one or more traditional anti-cancer therapies, such as radiation therapy.
