The present invention relates to an epigallocatechin gallate prodrug, a preparation method thereof, and a composition for controlling autophagy comprising the same, wherein the compound represented by Formula 1 or Formula 2 according to the present invention increases the expression of autophagy-related proteins. It can control and induce activation of autophagy, can protect cells from oxidative stress, and can be useful for the purpose of preventing or treating autophagy-related diseases.
