The present invention provides a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist of formula (I): It is useful for treating diseases treatable by 5-HT3 receptor inhibitors, such as vomiting, pain, drug addiction, neuropathic and psychotic diseases, and GI diseases. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds and methods of preparing such compounds.
