Embodiments of the present invention relate to a spectrum sensing method and a spectrum sensing apparatus, including (a) sampling a received signal, and (b) calculating a first calculation value related to the strength of a received signal based on the sampled signal. And (c) searching for a first frequency band having the highest correlation with the input signal based on the sampled signal; and (d) removing a signal component in the first frequency band from the received signal 1 calculating the residual component signal, (e) calculating a second calculation value related to the strength of the first residual component signal, and (f) using the relative value of the first calculation value and the second calculation value. It provides a spectrum sensing method including the step of determining whether a frequency band occupied by a signal exists.
