In detail, the present invention provides a step of forming iron hydroxide by neutralizing and precipitating a purge liquid recovered in a post-treatment of a precipitation filtrate generated in a nickel wet smelting process; And it provides a method for recovering magnesium oxide comprising the step of forming magnesium oxide by spray-baking the neutralization liquid recovered during the neutralization precipitation at a temperature of 650 ℃ to 720 ℃.
