Disclosed is a method of increasing production of isocitric acid in conditions of excess carbon source and nitrogen limit using yeast Yarrowia lipolytica, in which the level of expression of the gene Y. lipolytica YALI0E34672g, which codes the mitochondrial transporter YALI0E34672p involved in the export of isocitrate from mitochondria, is intensified.
