FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to methods for estimating proprioceptive sensitivity (PS) in individual joints of upper extremities in a human. That is ensured by performing 3–4 cycles of passive motions in tested joint of upper extremity in 15–25 seconds with variable amplitude. During passive movements, the person being tested copies them by performing active motions in the same joint of the symmetrical limb. Articular angles in the test joint and the homonymous joint of the symmetrical extremity are recorded, and the qualitative indices are evaluated: no reproduction of motions, reproduction of motion in another joint, partial reproduction, reproduction with additional movements, reproduction with disruption of direction of movement, reproduction of only extension or flexion movements. Also, values of quantitative indicators of success of copying are recorded: coefficient of amplitude, calculated as ratio of root-mean-square values of joint angles of passive and copying movements throughout the test; coefficient of shape, which is a linear correlation coefficient of normalized articular angles of movements throughout the test, with the exception of the initial half-wave of motion; beginning latency of copying motion; latency of cyclic copying motions averaged over cycles of movements within the limits of test. That is followed by comparing the obtained values of qualitative and quantitative indices with the limits of "norm", which are obtained in the study of a representative sample of neurologically and orthopaedic healthy subjects, the degree of safety or disturbance of the PS in the test joint is evaluated.;EFFECT: method provides an objective assessment of the degree of PS preservation or disturbance in any individual joints of the upper extremity by observing changes in the values over time, which enables to track the dynamics of PS recovery during treatment and rehabilitation.;1 cl, 5 dwg
