FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of composite materials based on copper. It can be used in electric engineering industry. Fraction of copper powder with size of not more than 5.0 mcm is mixed with thermally expanded graphite powder in ratio of 99.00–99.95 wt% of copper powder – 0.05–1.00 wt% of thermally expanded graphite. Obtained mixture is mixed and micromechanical splitting of thermally expanded graphite is performed by grinding in a planetary ball mill in mode of 330–370 rpm during 5–6 hours.
