Invention relates to a reforming method involving (A) feeding a first hydrocarbon feedstock into a radial flow reactor, having a catalyst bed, and bringing the first hydrocarbon feed material into contact with a catalyst bed in first reforming conditions to produce a first aromatic product; wherein the catalyst layer comprises an external reforming zone and an internal reforming zone; outer reforming zone comprises a first aromatization catalyst comprising a first transition metal and a first catalyst support; and the inner reforming zone contains a second flavoring catalyst comprising a second transition metal and a second catalyst support; (B) performing step (A) for a period of time sufficient to form a spent first aromatization catalyst in an external reforming zone; (C) introducing a catalyst poisoning agent into said radial flow reactor and contacting at least part of the spent first flavoring catalyst to form a poisoned aromatization catalyst in an external reforming zone; and (D) introducing a second hydrocarbon feed into said radial flow reactor, comprising a catalyst bed, and bringing the second hydrocarbon feed material into contact with the catalyst bed in second reforming conditions to produce a second aromatic product; wherein: spent first aromatization catalyst contains from approximately 1 wt% to approximately 10 wt% of carbon; poisoned aromatization catalyst is characterized by output of aromatic compounds of less than 10 wt%; and the catalyst poisoning agent includes a heavy hydrocarbon, a sulfur-containing compound, a phosphorus-containing compound, an oxygen-containing compound, a bromine-containing compound, an iodine-containing compound, an organometallic compound of lead, an organometallic compound of arsenic or any combination thereof.
