FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to pressure treatment of alloys of Al-Mg system, which exhibit intermittent deformation and localization of deformation in strips that negatively affect surface quality and corrosion properties of said alloys. Method of processing sheet blanks of industrial aluminum-magnesium alloys involves mechanical processing of workpiece by pressure with simultaneous transmission of pulsed electric current. A pulsed electric current is passed through the workpiece with repetition frequency of 800 Hz of rectangular pulses, amplitude of 30–34 A/mm2, duration of 1 ms, causing Joule heating of the workpiece by not more than 1 °C.;EFFECT: optimized power consumption at electro-current treatment of industrial alloys of system Al-Mg, used in production of aerospace engineering and automobiles, due to use of pulsed electric current for the most effective suppression of mechanical instabilities with simultaneous increase of strength of these alloys.;1 cl, 6 dwg
