FIELD: railway automatics.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway automation and telemechanics for railroad profile registration in order to determine oversized objects of railway infrastructure, as well as for timely detection of deformations of ballast prism and main site of road bed. To implement the method, scheduled aerial photography and aerial laser scanning of the area using an aircraft are simultaneously carried out. Digital aerial photos (AP) and array of laser reflection points along railway track are obtained. Obtained APs are divided into pairs subject to mutual orientation to form stereopairs. On the stereopairs the track is identified and the distance between the rail threads is determined, from which the scale of the image of the area on the AP is calculated. By superimposition of digital markers on AP of each stereopair, mutual orientation of AP is performed with determination of elements of their external orientation. Values of the external orientation elements are used to correct coordinates of the array of laser reflection points and to determine coordinates of said points on digital APs. Three-dimensional terrain model is formed by corrected values of three-dimensional coordinates of points on terrain, values of two-dimensional coordinates of these points on AP, as well as values of scale of images of area on AP.;EFFECT: improving accuracy of measurement characteristics and providing possibility of diagnostics of lower structure of railway track for detection of dangerous deformations of main site of road bed and railway ballast prism.;1 cl, 6 dwg
