FIELD: oil and gas industry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry, namely to analysis of chemical and mineral composition of deposits formed during oil production in oil-field equipment. Method of analyzing composition of deposits formed in equipment of oil producing well includes sampling, separation thereof into samples, determining in one of them moisture content with subsequent ashing thereof, wherein ratio of weight of sample before and after ashing is used to determine fraction of organic and inorganic compounds present in sample and, taking into account obtained results, other samples are divided and analyzed, ashing is carried out at 600–650 °C, sample is initially divided into three samples, A, B, C, in one of which, A, determine the content of water and, additionally, total content of water and volatile organic compounds, as well as the total content of inorganic compounds in the other sample, B, the total amount of petroleum hydrocarbons is determined as the difference in the weight of the initial and washed with toluene samples, wherein remaining solid fraction of sample B is divided into two samples, B1 and B2, from one, B1, determining inorganic components, and from other, B2, – toluene-insoluble organic compounds, particularly polymers, wherein if the amount of petroleum hydrocarbons in deposits exceeds 50 %, the third portion of the sample, sample C, is analyzed for paraffin content.;EFFECT: high information value of obtained results and completeness of investigations, with provision of data required for development and correction of measures for protection of oil-field equipment from deposits, selection of appropriate chemical regents for their prevention and removal.;1 cl, 1 tbl
