Disclosed is a method of reconstructing a fore end of a cargo vessel for routing in ice using an ice breaker, wherein the vessel has a bulbous nose end and a ballast tank before the peak bulkhead, comprising replacing part of the nose end solely within the ballast tank, without affecting the forehead bulkhead with the set reinforcing it and the chain boxes, at that, dismantling part of fore end with bulb, which prevents engagement of ship with ice breaker, is formed by means of software, new part of fore end is made and installed, providing smooth transition from stem to main body, at that, new part of fore end corresponds to ice class IA, set system is stored in it, new part of fore end is made of materials with yield point that is greater than that of dismantled part of fore end, ends of set are fixed by means of books, sizes of which are not less than on dismantled part of fore end, distance between the set and spans of the stiffening ribs, measured along the chord of the contour, do not exceed similar distances of the dismantled part, thickness of the outer skin and sizes of connections of the new structure not less than in the dismantled part.;EFFECT: proposed method will ensure safe routing by ice breaker along Northern Sea Route while minimizing number of dismantling and erection works.;1 cl, 2 dwg
