The present invention relates to a recombinant microorganism into which a xenogeneic gene has been introduced, and to a process for producing a useful material of formic acid and carbon dioxide using the microorganism. The present invention provides a novel cyclic pathway microorganism through which C3 or higher carbon organic compounds can be synthesized from formic acid and carbon dioxide, wherein carbon dioxide, which is abundant in nature, and formic acid, which is of low toxicity, and for an anabolic reaction is suitable in terms of reaction kinetics and which can be readily and rapidly synthesized from carbon dioxide, can be used for effective synthesis of the C3 organic compound pyruvic acid, from which various high quality additives can be synthesized.
