The invention relates to a screen printing machine with a cylindrical round screen, a squeegee arranged in the round screen and a supply and metering device for printing ink, wherein the squeegee rests against the inside of the round screen and applies the printing ink to the inside of the round screen. According to the invention, a capacitive sensor measures the filling level of the ink quantity on the doctor blade and supplies the feeding and metering device less, more or a constant amount of printing ink of the doctor blade in dependence on the measured quantity of ink on the doctor blade. According to the invention, therefore, the level of the ink quantity is measured on the doctor blade by means of a capacitive sensor and regulated at a change in the level of ink quantity on the doctor blade, the supply of ink quantity to the doctor and adjusted accordingly. The invention further relates to a corresponding screen printing method.
