The present invention relates to a method for determining a peracetic acid concentration in a peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide-containing sterilizing medium in a beverage bottling plant (10) comprising the steps of: treating the sterilizing medium by feeding a catalase enzyme to convert hydrogen peroxide contained in the sterilizing medium to oxygen and water; and determining the peracetic acid concentration in the treated sterilizing medium by an optical measuring method.
