The invention relates to a device (1) for coupling a linearly displaceable shift rod (4) to a pivotably mounted shift fork (8) of a gearwheel transmission. It is provided that the end (12) of the shift fork (8) close to the shift rod (4) is designed as an involute tooth element (14) which engages in a recess (24) formed on the shift rod (4), in the direction thereof the inner flanks (20, 22) of the shift rod (4) have the shape of a tooth gap of an associated toothed rack corresponding to the involute tooth element. As a result, the outer flanks (16, 18) of the tooth element (14) roll on the inner flanks (20, 22) of the recess (24) without sliding movement.
