The invention relates to a particle filter (30) for exhaust gas aftertreatment of an internal combustion engine (10). The particle filter (30) has a housing (34) on which an inlet (40) and an outlet (42) are formed on opposite end faces. The particle filter (30) also has a filter body (60) which is arranged in the housing (34) and has a multiplicity of first and second filter channels (46, 48) which run essentially parallel to one another. The first filter channels (46) are each closed by a first closure (52) and the second filter channels (48) are each closed by an inlet-side closure (50). It is provided that the first filter channels (46) and the second filter channels (48) are each separated from one another by a gas-permeable filter wall (44). It is provided that at least the second filter channels (48) are provided with a catalytically active coating (58). The closure of the first filter channels (46) is set back by an end face (64) of the filter body (60) on the outlet side in such a way that the average exhaust gas flow path is extended by the second filter channels (48) ) for an internal combustion engine (10).
