In order to improve a shaping reinforcement insert for a piece of clothing, the reinforcement insert defines a three-dimensional contour that deviates from a plane, and comprises at least two directly adjacent layers of textile material that are connected to one another, so that the shaping reinforcement insert is produced in a simple manner it is proposed that at least a first layer and at least a second layer of the at least two layers of textile material are connected to one another in at least one connection area by felting. Furthermore, an improved method for producing a shaping reinforcing insert for a piece of clothing is also proposed.
