The invention is concerned with improvements in the technical field of manufacturing and designing brushes. As an improvement, a device (1) for forming bristle bundles (2) is proposed. The device (1) comprises at least one bundle pocket (3) which is intended to receive a bristle bundle (2) to be formed. The bundle bag (3) has at least one lateral cutout (6). A displacement means (7) of the device (1) can be introduced into the bundle pocket (3) through this cutout (6) in order to produce a recess (29) within a bristle bundle (2) to be formed. The bundle pocket (3) and the bristle bundle (2) located therein are heated by means of the heating device (4) of the device (1) in order to fix the shape of the bristle bundle (2) predetermined by the bundle pocket (3) and the displacement means (7) (Fig. 1).
