Winding device for a sewing machine

A winding device (8) for a sewing machine is used to wind a thread on a bobbin from a thread supply. A spool shaft (12) is used to attach a spool housing (13) to the spool. The winder shaft (12) has a rotary drive (16). This is designed as a stepper motor. The result is a winding device with which a flexibly manageable winding process is made possible.
