A label strip (10) to be attached to a support strip (32) fastened to a shelf (34), for example, has two receiving spaces (14a, 14b) for receiving strip-shaped label carriers (30a, 30b). The receiving spaces (14a, 14b) are each delimited outwards by legs (18a, 18b) which have sections at their free end which are turned inward and each form a spring tongue (20a, 20b). Between the legs (18a, 18b) and the filter tongues (20a, 20b) there remains a receiving gap (22a, 22b) in which a label carrier (30a, 30b) can be inserted laterally so that at least one longitudinal edge of the respective label carrier is in the receiving slot is held. A clamping gap remains on the other side of the spring tongue (20a, 20b). The support strip (32) can optionally be inserted into one of the two clamping gaps (24a, 24b) in such a way that the support strip 32 is clamped either in the first clamping gap 24a or in the second clamping gap 24b.
