The present invention relates to a plant (A) for the production of metallic hot strip (B) with a hot rolling train for performing one or more rolling passes, the hot rolling train having at least two rolling stands n-1, n arranged one behind the other in the conveying direction (F) of the hot strip (B) having, and with a cooling device, the cooling device having at least one first upper rapid cooling spray bar (SK1o) for applying a cooling medium (W) to the top (O) of the hot strip (B) between the n-1'th roll stand and the n ' th roll stand, and wherein the cooling device has at least one first lower rapid cooling spray beacon (SK1u) for applying the cooling medium (W) to the underside (U) of the hot strip (B) between the n-1'th roll stand and the n'th roll stand having. The system is characterized in that the cooling device is set up to cover at least 30 percent of the length (L) of the hot strip (B) between the n-1'th roll stand and the n'th roll stand with the cooling medium (W). The invention also relates to a method for producing metallic hot strip (B) using this plant.
