DYNAMIC IP MULTICAST ROUTING METHOD IN AN AD-HOC NETWORK

The invention relates to a method of routing a request for joining a multicast data stream made between two nodes (N11 - N7) in a communications network organized into subnets (SR1 to SR5) where the nodes and the subnets each have a MAC address. The routing method described in the invention comprises successive steps of transmitting the membership request between neighboring nodes of the network along a route connecting the first and second nodes, at least one of said steps of transmitting the membership request between neighboring nodes (N11-N10) uses a point-to-multipoint link. The invention also relates to a method for routing a multicast stream comprising sending a membership request and updating a multicast distribution tree, a method for routing a termination request and a network implementing the method according to the invention.
