The invention relates to a fuel additive device (1) comprising: - a first routing duct (10) connected between a fuel source (2) and a fuel storage tank (3), - a second delivery pipe (20) connected between a reservoir (30) of additive (s) and the first delivery pipe (10), - a pump (24) for additive (s), positioned between the two ends ( 21, 22) of the second routing duct (20), able to take a predetermined quantity of additive (s) from the additive (s) reservoir (30) in order to convey it to the first routing duct ( 10), said device (1) being characterized in that it further comprises: - a volumeter (15) measuring, in real time, a volume (Vc1) of fuel passing through it, - a temperature sensor (16) measuring , in real time, the temperature (Tc) of the fuel flow circulating in the first delivery duct (10), - a control unit (60) able to actuate the additives pump (24) in ur withdrawing said predetermined quantity, said control unit being further connected to said volumeter (15) and to said temperature probe (16), and configured to process, in real time, the measured volume value and the temperature value and determine a value of the actual volume (Vr) of fuel routed to the storage tank (3) and to generate an alert as soon as the difference between the actual total volume (Vr) of fuel and the total volume measured (Vc) at the volumeter, in absolute value, is greater than a predetermined threshold (x).
