The invention relates to a method of driving a motor vehicle comprising a plurality of sensors (10, 11, 12) adapted to acquire raw data relating to the environment of the motor vehicle and a calculation unit (20) adapted to receive the raw data acquired by the sensors, said method comprising steps of: - reception by the calculation unit of the raw data acquired by the sensors, - processing by the calculation unit of said raw data in order to deduce information therefrom ( S1, S2, S3) relating to the environment of the motor vehicle and the probability coefficients (P1, P2, P3) of error in the deduction of each item of information, and - drawing up of a control instruction (C1) of the vehicle automobile according to said information and said probability coefficients. According to the invention, the method also comprises steps of: - determination, for at least one of said sensors, of a quality coefficient relating to the quality of the raw data transmitted by this sensor, - estimation of the reliability of the setpoint of piloting as a function of the quality coefficients and of the probability coefficients, and - decision to correct or not to correct the piloting instruction as a function of the estimated reliability of the piloting instruction.
