The present invention relates to an avionic communication system (20) comprising a plurality of switches (22A,…, 22N) and a plurality of equipment (24A,…, 24N). Each piece of equipment (24A, ..., 24N) is capable of generating digital data in the form of a plurality of frames of first type conforming to a first protocol or of second type conforming to a second protocol. Each switch (22A,…, 22N) and each receiving equipment (24A,…, 24N) are configured to determine the type of each frame received and according to the determined type, to process this frame in accordance with the corresponding protocol, each frame of first type being treated in priority with respect to each frame of second type.
