Base frame of a vehicle frame, comprising rear side members provided with a reinforcement. The object of the invention is a base frame for a motor vehicle chassis comprising side members (1) reinforced against their deformation in the event of a rear impact suffered by the chassis. Each of said side members (1) accommodates inside a cavity (7) which it comprises a reinforcing member (6) formed by a plate (8) which comprises, along its vertically opposed longitudinal edges, returns ( 8b) transverse upper and lower vertical docking against respectively an upper wing (3a) and a lower wing (3b) of the spar (1).
