A method and system for acquiring seismic data

A seismic data acquisition system consists of multiple seismic buoys for recording any seismic signals during water drifting. A vessel has a seismic signal source unit. At least one auxiliary vessels bears multiple seismic buoys and deploys them down to water surface by a pull rope using a deployment device. The auxiliary vessels include a device (Fig 4, Fig 5) for picking up seismic buoys from water after a seismic signal recording program is completed. The seismic buoys consist of an upper body with an integrated satellite module, a float attached to an upper body, a damping device for reducing natural environment noise and other effects caused by seismic buoy drifting, and a lower body coupled with an upper body by a specific length cable with integrated, at least, one seismic sensor. The system can be used in a seismic refraction method.
