A composition for oral ingestion by humans comprising a mixture of glucomannan and cannabidiol and one or more carrier substances. Preferably, the composition is a solid composition, most preferably a chewy pastille (gummy). The oral composition comprising the dietary fibre glucomannan in combination with cannabidiol acts as an appetite suppressant and may be used in assisting weight loss. Also disclosed is a chewable pastille comprising a chewable base comprising a gelling agent and a sugar and/or a sugar alcohol; glucomannan; and a cannabis extract containing cannabidiol. Preferably, the chewable base comprises the sugar alcohol sorbitol and/or the gelling agent agar. Other gelling agents may include pectin or gelatin. The cannabis extract containing cannabidiol may consist of a cannabis extract oil e.g. in sunflower oil. Other substances may also be included in the pastille compositions including flavouring agents, non-sugar sweeteners, colouring agents, vegetable oils, natural waxes and anticaking agents. The oral composition may be administered with or before the ingestion of food.
