An overfill restriction device 50 for a container comprising: a valve body; a valve member 63; a valve actuator 68; a fluid-level detector 64 and a retaining means located on the actuator and/or the valve member to retain the valve in the closed position. Preferably the valve is a poppet valve that is biased closed, the actuator is a cam 68, the retaining means is an ident in the cam and the fluid level detector is a float pivotally coupled to the valve body. Also claimed is a pressure reset apparatus (60, figure 6) having two body portions defining two internal chambers having fluidly connected throughbores. The body portions are biased to be sealed against one another such that the throughbores are isolated from ambient pressure. One of the body portions is movable relative to the other on application of an external force against the sealing bias, preferably manually or with a tool, to open a passage between the body portions and expose the throughbore to ambient pressure. A flow control assembly 10 has a flow control valve 20 and an overfill restriction device and preferably a pressure reset apparatus.
