A method of selecting a public transportation route during coordinated monitoring by taxis and public transportation vehicles. The present method applies to the public transportation network of a municipal region and utilizes public transport vehicles, long-distance vehicles, taxis, garbage trucks and other mobile monitoring vehicles upon which are mounted atmospheric pollutant sensors for performing real-time measurement, so as to monitor the atmospheric quality of said municipal region, thus increasing monitoring objectivity and spatio-temporal coverage.
