Frequency hopping in grant-free systems

Frequency hopping in grant-free transmissions in OFDM cellular wireless systems. A hopping pattern is defined based on the index (n) of the transmission slot, a repetition index (i) of the resource block within the transmission slot, the number of repetitions (K) transmitted of each transport block, and the maximum number of repetitions (N) of a transport block in the transmission slot. A hopping index may be based on the equation Hop_Index = (n * N + i) mod K + 1. The hopping index may be based on an offset, which may be a correction factor to account for missed mini-slots. The number of repetitions and maximum number of repetitions may be configured by RRC signalling or a DCI message.
