Systems and methods for steam and catalytic cracking a hydrocarbon inlet stream containing hydrocarbons. Systems and methods are provided for a catalyst feed stream comprising a fluidized and a heterogeneous catalyst, wherein the heterogeneous catalyst is operable to catalyze the decomposition of hydrocarbons on the surface of the heterogeneous catalyst. A vapor feed stream operable to achieve vapor cracking, which reduces coking of the heterogeneous catalyst to receive and mix the vapor feed stream and the hydrocarbon inlet stream, the catalyst feed stream, and the vapor feed stream. A downflow reactor that is operable to produce light olefins by steam cracking and catalytic cracking, and a heterogeneous catalyst that is operable to flow downward due to gravity. May be included.
